1. B. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said Georgia leaders are courting other Connecticut businesses after General Electric’s announced search for a new location for its headquarters. Speaking to reporters after his quarterly meeting with metro Atlanta CEOs, Reed said he visited with a group of Connecticut “business leaders” on Thursday. He declined to say who else participated in the meeting, nor did he name the companies involved.

2. C. Grady Memorial, the state’s largest hospital, has failed to tell police about as many as 1,500 possible sex crimes, including more than 130 where the victims asked the hospital for help to bring rapists to justice, an Atlanta Journal-Constitution investigation found. Grady officials said a federal medical privacy law blocked them from alerting police or providing them with evidence it collected from patients and stored in rape kits, such as bodily fluids and hair.
