A college student burst into the women's bathroom at a Gwinnett County park Sunday morning, police said, crawling into a stall occupied by a mother and child before being restrained by the woman's husband.

He was arrested and charged with peeping Tom, disorderly conduct and simple assault.

According to a Gwinnett County police incident report, the woman and her young daughter were at Dacula's Harbins Park when 23-year-old Mackenzie Richmond Duffey "came running into the bathroom and crawled under their stall door." The woman told Duffey to leave them alone, but Duffey kept crawling and she started screaming.

Her husband ran inside and restrained Duffey until police arrived.

"When I asked Duffey why he was in the women's bathroom," the responding officer wrote in the report, "he stated that he was extremely thirsty and was looking for water. Duffey stated he could not find the water fountain, so he walked into the women's bathroom and climbed underneath the stall."

Duffey reportedly denied being on drugs. The officer wrote that Duffey's pupils were "extremely small."

The woman "stated several times that Duffey's eyes looked crazy," the report said. "... She and her daughter were scared of Duffey and did not know what he was about to do to them."

Gwinnett County jail records list Duffey as a Winder resident and student at the University of North Georgia. He was released Sunday on $15,300 bond.
