Two metro Atlanta residents are entering the new year with luck on their side.

Powerball lottery tickets worth $50,000 each were purchased at locations in Atlanta and Cumming, the Georgia Lottery said Thursday.

The winning tickets in the New Year’s Day drawing matched four of the first numbers with the Powerball: 49, 53, 57, 59, 62 and the Powerball was 26.

One lucky ticket was purchased at the Shell Food Mart at 356 Moreland Ave. in East Atlanta. The other was bought at the Publix on 580 Atlanta Road in Cumming in Forsyth County. The winners have not yet come forward to claim their prizes, but they have 180 days to do so.

The upcoming Powerball drawing on Sunday has an estimated jackpot of $237 million.
