Interim DeKalb County CEO Lee May rescheduled Thursday night's anticipated community forum where he planned to meet face-to-face with residents and respond to a report on government corruption.

May's announcement didn't provide a reason that the meeting was changed.

He announced five other public events, starting Tuesday at the Lou Walker Senior Center in Lithonia. The Thursday meeting had been scheduled for the Maloof Auditorium in Decatur.

The meetings, titled “Up Close and Personal,” will provide residents an opportunity to discuss the county budget, government operations and other topics with May, according to his announcement.

Investigators hired by May issued a report last week that alleged "widespread misconduct" in county government and called for him to resign.

May responded that the 40-page report was "salacious" and "wasteful," and he said he doesn't intend to step down.

DeKalb Commissioner Nancy Jester said Thursday night’s meeting will go on without May.

Jester said she will host “Lee May Town Hall Minus Lee May” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Maloof Auditorium. She will record video of public comments and deliver a copy of the recording to May.

The community meetings will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lou Walker Senior Center in Lithonia, Oct. 15 at the Tucker-Reid Cofer Library, Oct. 20 at the Derwin Brown Memorial South Precinct in Decatur, Oct. 22 at Welcome Friend Baptist Church in Ellenwood, and Oct. 26 at the Maloof Auditorium in Decatur.
