An Acworth daycare that voluntarily closed after a teacher tested positive for the novel coronavirus said Thursday it will remain shut while it conducts additional cleaning.

“The public health department has advised that staff and children in direct contact with the confirmed diagnosis self-quarantine for 14 days from the date of last exposure,” Childcare Network Acworth said in a statement. “For those individuals, our school will remain closed until Thursday, March 19.”

The daycare will reopen Monday, March 16, within limited hours and classrooms for students and faculty who had no direct contact with the affected individual and are free of symptoms.

The company said it plans to full reopen Thursday, March 19.
