Schools in Georgia close now for snow and ice and even extreme cold.

Should they also consider shutting down and allowing students to remain home when forecasts include storms that could generate tornadoes?

That is happening elsewhere in the southeastern United States. But are students safer in school buildings during tornadoes, especially in areas with a lot of mobile homes?
