Clayton County school officials are investigating a complaint by a principal that an administrator has sexually harassed him.

Forest Park High School principal Derrick C. Manning filed the complaint on April 23 against area superintendent Machelle Matthews, according to documents obtained by Channel 2 Action News.

Manning said after he rejected her advances, Matthews’ “behavior transitioned from being sexually pretentious to demeaning and derogatory, condescending and curt.” Manning wrote in his complaint that he is being treated for stress-related conditions because of the “undue duress placed on me by Dr. Matthews.”

Manning said Matthews’ actions violates Clayton school district policy.

Clayton officials declined comment Thursday because it is an ongoing investigation. A telephone call to Manning was not immediately returned Thursday.
