Fulton County’s school system named Phil Lanoue on Friday as its finalist to become superintendent.

The average tenure of a school superintendent in a large district such as Fulton is just three years, but it comes with a hefty salary and many benefits.

Here’s a breakdown of the base salaries of the current superintendents in metro Atlanta’s four largest school systems, along with five benefits each of them receive. The information is based on an Atlanta Journal-Constitution review of their current contracts.

Meria Carstarphen, Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent

Base salary: $375,000

Stephen Green, DeKalb County School District Superintendent

Base salary: $300,000

Chris Ragsdale, Cobb County School District Superintendent

Base salary: $275,000

J. Alvin Wilbanks, Gwinnett County Public Schools Superintendent

Base salary: $299,809
