Dec 30, 2014

Two metro Atlanta school districts were among the recipients of state grants for programs that discourage students from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety awarded Students Against Destructive Decisions grants to the Clayton and Fulton school districts.

Several high schools in the Cherokee, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Paulding and Walton school districts also won grants.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for 15 to 20 year-olds, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
