The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into a case of the supervisor of Hall County school resource officers who spent as much as $10,000 on unapproved purchases of guns and electronics, according to a Hall County Sheriffs Department spokeswoman.

The Gainesville Times reported that Lt. Earl Roach, who retired in February, bought two rifles and a shotgun with school system money without approval. He also bought video equipment, a drone and a large LED TV. Roach turned over the guns only after the investigation began.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office initially investigated before the GBI took over.
