Kennesaw State official to lead University of Central Arkansas

Houston Davis, who was Kennesaw State University's interim president for several months this year, has been named the next president of the University of Central Arkansas, KSU officials said Thursday.

The University of Central Arkansas Board of Trustees voted unanimously Wednesday to appoint Davis, according to local news accounts. A starting date hasn’t been determined, the reports said.

Davis worked in the interim role from June through October after the retirement of Dan Papp. He was executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer at the University System of Georgia since May 2012.

Former Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens became KSU's permanent president on Nov. 1.
