Parent: Charter renewal vote likely hampered by ballot tampering

The DeKalb County School District is investigating whether a parent vote on renewing the charter for Peachtree Charter Middle School was invalidated by improprieties, officials said Thursday.

Parent Tim O’Connor said he found the ballot box vulnerable Friday, with ballots outside of the box as it sat on a media cart during the daylong voting window on Jan. 8. Proponents likely stuffed the ballot box, he said.
