Atlanta’s school board doesn’t plan to hold public meetings to introduce superintendent candidates to the community before a decision is made, said Board of Education Chairman.

English said he wants to protect candidates’ confidentiality, and community members provided their thoughts during public meetings at the beginning of the yearlong search.

The board plans to announce the names of three or fewer finalists in April, and a selection would be made at least 14 days later.
