A nonprofit group has received a $1 million grant it will use to improve science, technology, engineering and math programs in 10 metro Atlanta school districts.

The Atlanta-based Goizueta Foundation gave the money to Project Lead The Way, which will use it to implement programs in those subjects for students in kindergarten through the sixth grade, officials announced Tuesday.

Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties will participate in the program.
