The National Speech & Debate Association ranks Marist School’s speech and debate program among the top 10 percent of U.S. school and earned Marist membership into the association’s 100 Club. Marist’s speech and debate program achieved over 100 units of measurement for their competitive and service-related activities during the 2014-2015 academic year. This is the first time Marist’s speech and debate program has received this recognition. Marist’s speech and debate program, moderated by faculty members Jeffrey Miller and Abby Schirmer, teaches students communication, research, listening, writing, and organizational skills.

“I am very proud of the students for achieving this important milestone,” said Jeffrey Miller. “Their dedication and hard work combined with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they are acquiring will serve them well in their future endeavors.”
