Superstar singer John Legend has signed up to perform at Morehouse School of Medicine’s virtual commencement Saturday.

The commencement is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and can be viewed here. The Atlanta school will celebrate the matriculation of more than 150 medical doctors, biomedical scientists, and public health practitioners.

Legend, People Magazine’s 2019 “Sexiest Man Alive,” is the first African American man to have won each of the American entertainment industry’s highest honors: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award (EGOT).

Other prominent speakers scheduled to address the graduates include Drs. Louis W. Sullivan and David Satcher, both former presidents of the school who, respectively, served as U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary and U.S. Surgeon General.

Many colleges and universities are having virtual commencements instead of in-person ceremonies because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The graduates will have another opportunity to celebrate at 2 p.m. Saturday when former President Barack Obama headlines a virtual commencement event for the nation’s historically black colleges and universities. Morehouse School of Medicine is one of nine accredited HBCUs in Georgia.
