Impact of poverty on learning to be discussed

The Professional Association of Georgia Educators is holding a conference in Atlanta Friday on the impact of poverty on learning.

Claire Suggs, senior policy analyst for the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, and Steve Suitts, vice president of the Southern Education Foundation, will speak to businessmen and educators during a luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia, located on Ashford Dunwoody Road.

The conference, which begins at 7:30 a.m. with a breakfast and ends by 2:15 p.m., is titled “Georgia Students: The Faces of Poverty.”
