Eleven Gwinnett County public school students have earned National Merit Scholarships.

The students are:

• Priyanka Desai, Peachtree Ridge High School

• Soujanya Duggirala, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology

• Karen Gu, Collins Hill High School

• Jonathan R. Jeffrey, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology

• Amy Catherine Jenkins, Mountain View High School

• Victoria Joshi, North Gwinnett High School

• Iris Liu, Brookwood High School

• Thienkhanh Cao Nguyen, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology

• Anima Shrestha, Parkview High School

• Lillian Wang, Parkview High School

• Noah M. Wilson, Grayson High School

The scholarship program began in 1955 to celebrate the academic achievement of American students. The students are selected based on criteria such as their grades, their school’s academic curriculum, the student’s activities outside the classroom and a student essay.

Desai, Jeffrey, Jenkins, Joshi, Shrestha, Wang and Wilson each received $2,500 from the organization.

Duggirala, Gu, Liu and Nguyen will receive corporate-sponsored scholarships to help fund their college educations.
