Gwinnett students achieve perfection

Fourteen Gwinnett County students were recently honored for achieving a measure of perfection.

The students never missed a day of school during their academic careers. They never missed a day of kindergarten, a day of elementary school, a day of middle school or a day of high school.

School board members celebrated the students’ achievement during a meeting last week.

The students are:

Atlanta board of education approves school consolidation plan

The Atlanta school board voted unanimously Wednesday night to approve a consolidation plan, which would result in some school closures in a couple of years.

Atlanta parents, residents object to plans to close some schools

Due to lower enrollment and climbing costs, 16 school buildings would be repurposed under the plan, with several schools closing and their students rezoned for other schools.

KSU officials said the campus is safe, but internet and heat for some buildings on campus are out.
