May 6, 2016

Gwinnett County school officials are set to have an informational meeting Friday afternoon to help students with disabilities.

The meeting will be at the school district’s headquarters, 437 Old Peachtree Rd., Suwanee, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Officials will provide information about possible services available through the school system to support students with disabilities.

The school district is required to locate and identify children aged from birth to 21 years-old with disabilities who are in need of special education and related services.

About 11 percent of Gwinnett students have some form of disability, according to state records.
