The Gwinnett County Board of Education tapped two current assistant principals as the new leaders of Duluth and Lanier high schools.

Eric R. Davidson, currently the associate principal at Duluth High, will move up to principal as current principal Anthony Smith assumes an assistant superintendent position at the district level.

Christopher Martin, associate principal of Collins Hill High School, will be the new principal of Lanier High School. Dr. Martin steps into the principal role as the current Lanier principal, Dr. Reuben Gresham, moves to the district level as an assistant superintendent for high schools.

Both men have doctoral degrees.

Davidson has worked his way up from a science teacher and started with Gwinnett in 1997.

Martin has been working in schools since 1995, starting as a paraprofessional and started with Gwinnett schools as an emotional and behavioral disorder teacher.
