Parents, residents and students at Gwinnett County’s Trickum Middle School are being asked to fill out a survey expressing what qualities they’d like for their next principal.

The principal, Kay Sands, announced her retirement this month and posted a message Monday on the school's website with a link to the survey.

“I am very much committed to us having a great ending to this school year and to helping my successor learn about our students, staff, and school community,” Sands wrote.

Sands has been principal there since 2008 and has been an educator for 28 years.

Trickum Middle School is in Lilburn.
