Gwinnett County’s Berkmar High School will host several meetings to share information with people interested in a job training program that could lead to careers in the construction industry.

Construction Ready, a free, four-week training program, will connect participants with some of the region’s top construction companies. Those who complete the program will receive as many as eight certificates in areas such as forklif safety training, laser certification and first aid.

Here’s the schedule for the information meetings, all of which will take place at Berkmar High School, 405 Pleasant Hill Rd., Lilburn:

  • May 2, 3 to 5 p.m.
  • May 9, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • May 16, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • May 18, 3 to 5 p.m.
  • May 25, 7 to 9 p.m.
  • May 30, 7 to 9 p.m.

The training is scheduled to start on June 15 at Berkmar High.

Program partners include the state’s Economic Development Department, the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia and HB Next, a construction consulting and training company based in Gwinnett County.
