Gwinnett County’s school system is offering free classes for parents with limited English and computer skills.

Registration for the classes began Tuesday and concludes Thursday. The registration, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will be at the International Newcomer Center, 495 Maltbie St. in Lawrenceville. The classes, which are scheduled to begin on Jan. 17, will also be held the center. No child care will be provided.

Gwinnett school district officials hope the classes will better equip parents to use some of its services, such as its portal which contains information about student grades and meal plans.
