Grady High School students scored better on the SAT last school year than any school in the Atlanta Public Schools system, according to data released Thursday by the College Board, which administers the exam.

The mean total score at Grady was 1494, an Atlanta Journal-Constitution analysis of the data found. Booker T. Washington’s Early College academy was second at 1457 and North Atlanta High was third, with a mean total score of 1447.

In Atlanta, the mean total score was about 1320, a slight decline from the 2013-14 total of 1343. Statewide, the mean total score for Georgia students who took the exam during the 2014-15 school year was 1450, five points better than the total score for the 2013-14 school year.
