Fans & foes of campus gun law looking to propose changes

Critics as well as supporters of Georgia’s new “campus carry” law are looking for ways to make changes to the guidelines.

Some supporters, such as 29-year-old Georgia State University law student Alex Ward, are thinking of fixes to the law that would allow faculty to carry permitted weapons into their own offices.

Tamelonie Thomas, 23, a Georgia Southern student who opposed the legislation, is hoping the University System of Georgia will consider signage on campuses explaining where people can carry firearms and training for permit holders.
