The DeKalb County School District is offering parents of current students the chance to earn their GED through a free program this summer.

The Free Parent Education Summer Program for General Education Diplomas will kick off May 8 and May 9 with informational sessions for interested parents who did not earn their high school diploma.

The venture is a collaboration between Georgia Piedmont Technical College and the district's Department of Parent and Family Engagement. Participants must be over 23 years old, have a state-issued identification card and be the parent or guardian of a current DeKalb County School District student.

Register here for one of four informational sessions, held on May 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to noon, or 6 to 8 p.m.
