The DeKalb County Board of Education will lose two veteran members this year.

Stan Jester, who joined the board in 2015, said he would step back from the board, citing increased responsibilities in other ventures.

Michael Erwin, who served as chairman in 2018 and 2019, said he was resigning effective June 30, as his family was moving away from the area.

Erwin is one of two holdovers -- with Joyce Morley -- from Gov. Nathan Deal's board appointments made in 2013 after Deal removed six of the then nine-member board amid concerns of mismanagement and board overstepping.
