Girl power was all the buzz at Atlanta's Hope-Hill Elementary School Thursday as students observed International Day of the Girl. Led by Cool Girls Inc., an Atlanta-based nonprofit dedicated to the self-empowerment of girls in low income communities, students at the school joined organizations around the world in celebrating the first-ever event. More than 40 girls from Hope-Hill gathered to talk about the day's significance and to create tote bags with their own empowerment messages. The girls plan to carry the bags in school and in the community with the goal of spreading positive messages to other girls. For more information about Cool Girls go to: www.thecoolgirls.org.
