A Lithuanian man who boarded a Boeing 737-800 plane bound for a northern Italian resort city discovered he was the only passenger on the two-hour flight, according to The Associated Press.

Skirmantas Strimaitis, who was flying to Bergamo, Italy, from Lithuania's capital city of Vilnius for a skiing holiday March 16, was outnumbered on the plane by the two pilots and five crew members, according to the AP.

Strimaitis did not have to worry about noisy passengers, waiting for use of the bathroom or getting the attention of the flight attendants. He called the trip on the empty plane -- which normally seats up to 188 passengers -- “a once in the lifetime experience.”

The Novaturas travel agency told the AP it chartered the plane from Vilnius to fly a group home from Italy, and to avoid flying empty, one-way tickets from Vilnius to Bergamo were sold. Only Strimaitis bought one.

It turned into a very pleasant flight.
