All lanes of I-575 northbound near Bells Ferry Road were blocked Friday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash involving an off-duty Roswell police officer who was on his personal motorcycle.

As of 4 p.m. Friday, one lane was reopened, WSB Radio reported.

According to Channel 2 Action News, the unidentified officer received minor injuries in the crash. No other injuries were reported, Georgia Department of Transportation spokesman David Spear said.

He said the crash involved the motorcycle, two cars and a truck.

The WSB 24-hour Traffic Center advised motorists to use Highway 5 as an alternate route.

The officer was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital, Roswell police spokeswoman Lisa Holland told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
