Kellyanne Conway’s husband reportedly tapped for DOJ post

President Donald Trump has tapped the husband of White House advisor Kellyanne Conway to lead the civil division at the Department of Justice.

George Conway III, 53, would lead the department tasked with defending Trump’s controversial travel ban and lawsuits related to his business dealings, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Conway is a partner at the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York and has been with the firm since 1988, shortly after graduating from Yale Law School.

The civil division of the DOJ has about 1,000 lawyers that handle issues relating to national security and consumer protection. It also enforces federal programs and the actions of the president himself, The New York Times reported.
