A Clayton County jury deciding the fate of a woman accused of murder in the 2012 death of a rookie cop has been asked to start over, Channel 2 Action News is reporting.
One of the jurors deliberating the murder trial of Lisa Ann Lebis was excused on Friday, according to reports.
The jury had reached a verdict and signed off on the decision, but in the final minutes, one of the jurors had a change of heart, according to Channel 2.
The juror was excused, according to reports.
After the alternate was seated, a Clayton County Superior Court reportedly asked the jury to forget everything they had discussed before the alternate joined the jury.
Deliberations will begin again Monday, authorities said.
Lebis is charged with felony murder and weapons possession, among other charges, for the December 2012 shooting death of Clayton County Police Officer Sean Callahan.
Callahan was one of the first officers on the scene of a Stockbridge motel room where a heated domestic dispute was reported between Lebis and her husband Tremaine Lynn Lebis.
Police say Tremaine Lebis opened fire on the officers who returned fire.
Callahan, who was 24 at the time, and Tremaine Lebis were killed in the gunfire exchange, authorities said.
The jury began deliberations late Monday afternoon, and continued until about 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday.
The jury had two days off because the Clayton County courthouse was closed Wednesday and Thursday in the wake of freezing rain and snow that created dangerous roads.
