The federal government will pay for temporary repairs after part of I-85 collapsed in a fire Thursday, U.S. Rep. John Lewis told Channel 2 Action News.

The state and federal governments will split the cost of a permanent fix.

Channel 2's DC correspondent said the money for the repairs wouldn't require congressional action, but would be through existing emergency assistance resources.
