Two men were critically injured when a propane tank exploded Wednesday night in Dawson County.

The men were offloading 250-gallon propane tanks at a business off Hightower Parkway when they struck a valve, sparking a flash fire, according to Deputy Chief Tim Satterfield with the Dawson County fire department.

Both victims, whose names were not released, were transported in critical condition to Grady Memorial Hospital, Satterfield said. One of the men was flown to Grady, while the other was transported by ambulance, he said.

No other injuries were reported.
