It’s been almost four months since Tessica Brown underwent surgery to remove Gorilla Glue adhesive from her head. Now she’s coming out with a line of haircare products.
Brown went viral earlier this year when she made a TikTok telling users on the platform that she had substituted Gorilla Glue spray adhesive for hairspray. She went on to say in the video that she had been unable to move her hair for a month.
Many users felt empathy for Brown, including plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng. He saw her struggle and reached out to tell her he could remove the glue with a special chemical treatment, CBS News reported. The surgery normally costs more than $12,000, but Obeng offered to do it for free.
Post-surgery, Brown told People that she was overcome with emotions but knew she had a long road ahead to restore her hair back to the length it was before.
Struggling to find products that helped her, Brown decided to develop her own.
In an Instagram video Brown posted on Wednesday, she announced she had been working on developing a haircare line called Forever Hair.
“As y’all already know, about four months ago I ran out of hairspray and ended up using Gorilla Glue spray,” Brown said in the new Instagram post. “Bad, bad idea. As a result of that, I ended up losing my hair and having scalp damage. But since then I have been working with professionals to create and formulate a hair root oil.”
Currently available on the Forever Hair site is a Growth Stimulating Oil, which Brown claims revived her hair, and Forever Hold spray, so no one else will experience the same accidental issue she had with Gorilla Glue.
