The defending NBA champions met Obama for an hour at his office in Washington, D.C., ESPN reported. The Warriors visited Obama at the White House in February 2016 to celebrate their 2015 NBA title.

The Warriors did not visit President Donald Trump last season to celebrate their title, opting instead to visit local children, Sports Illustrated reported. When several players balked at visiting Trump, the president withdrew the invitation, ESPN reported.

A team official told ESPN that Warriors star Stephen Curry arranged the meeting with Obama.

"It was good," Warriors forward Draymond Green said about the meeting. "A private team meeting, team event, it was good."

Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the House of Representatives, spoke with Curry after the game and took a selfie with the two-time NBA MVP, ESPN reported. Pelosi also told Green she had once bought his jersey, Sports Illustrated reported.
