After a months-long investigation, law enforcement agencies have made the largest methamphetamine seizure in Lee County’s history and charged three Albany residents, according to a news release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Last Friday, agents said they seized about 22 pounds of suspected meth, 5 pounds of suspected marijuana and $1,500 in cash, according to the release.

The investigation began two months ago, when agents received a tip that Matthew Bridges, 28, was obtaining bulk quantities of meth from an unknown source in Atlanta, according to the release. Undercover agents reportedly purchased meth from Bridges in Albany.

Investigators made a traffic stop Friday on U.S. Highway 19 in Lee County and arrested Bridges, Terrance Battle, 40, and Quannesha Gatling, 26.
