Groundskeepers at the Charles Baber Cemetery in Pottsville said they believe the reptile is an 8-foot black snake, the television station reported. The groundskeepers said they have tried to catch the snake for several weeks, but have been unsuccessful, WNEP reported.

“We took a couple measures to retrieve it,” groundskeeper Randy Stewart told the television station. “In fact, (groundskeeper) Tom (Dodds) had it by the tail.”

"I knew the worst part of it was inside the wall, but too much of him was in the wall and I let him go because I know I am only going to hurt him," Dodds told WNEP.

Groundskeepers said if they catch the reptile, they will relocate it to a wooded area, the television station reported.
