The man was from Oxford Township, WDIV reported. According to police, the turkey flew across the road and collided with the man's chest, the television station reported. The impact sent the motorcyclist, who has not been identified, crashing into a guard rail, where he lost his left leg below the knee. The turkey was killed, WDIV reported.

"When it's your time, it's your time," Pam White, who lives near the crash scene, told the television station. "A turkey hitting a motorcycle? That's an act of God."

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said emergency crews were able to stabilize the man, but he died from his injuries at an area hospital, WDIV reported.

"I feel so sad for this man's family," White told the television station. "I can't even imagine the pain they must be going through. To have such a fluke accident and to lose a loved one due to something like this -- it's unimaginable."
