A DeKalb County family of five was carjacked at gunpoint this week inside an apartment complex, according to police. Now, the family fears those suspects will return.

A father of three, who asked that his name not be released, told police his wife and three young children were in the family’s SUV when they were approached by a masked man with a gun Monday night, according to the police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“You don’t give me the car, I’m going to kill you and your family,” the suspect told the father, according to police.

The victim’s wife, 4-year-old twins and 7-month-old baby got out of the SUV, and the suspect got into the vehicle and left the Brookhaven complex, the report states. The suspect in the family’s Chevrolet Tahoe was followed by two suspects in another vehicle.

The carjacked family was not injured in the robbery. But the family fears an incident at a neighbor’s apartment could be related.

Thursday night, bricks were thrown through a window of an apartment, whose residents also asked not to be identified. One child was injured by glass in that incident.
