The morning commute through Spaghetti Junction in DeKalb County was interrupted for hours Monday when two tractor-trailers collided and blocked the ramp from I-285 East to I-85 North.

The busy interchange was shut down at about 4:30 a.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Traffic cameras showed one truck’s cab partly overturned as it crashed into the back of the other big rig, which broke nearly in half upon impact.

Police have not released any information on the crash, and it was not clear if anyone was injured. It appears that fuel spilled onto the interstate.

Authorities worked to clear the wreck in heavy rain before lanes reopened at about 8:40 a.m. While traffic volume was lighter Monday because of the Juneteenth holiday, delays on I-285 stacked up to Buford Highway by daybreak.
