Investigators believe the overnight death of a woman inside a home in northwest Atlanta was a homicide.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office identified the dead woman as Rasheda Cauthen, 36, of Atlanta.

Atlanta police received a call just after 1 a.m. Tuesday reporting a death from natural causes at the home in the 1400 block of Andrews Street.

But once detectives arrived and began investigating, they discovered that the woman had bruises on her body, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“The overall crime scene had many suspicious components to it, so we are treating this as a homicide,” Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci told Channel 2.

Detectives were interviewing a man who lived with Cauthen.
