Sherri Lynn Jennings, 44, of Cumming, was arrested Wednesday by officials from several agencies, according to the GSP.

The Oct. 9 incident in Dawson County killed Bobby Eugene Wells, 80, of Dawsonville, according to multiple reports.

Jennings is charged with homicide by vehicle and hit-and-run as well as failure to report an accident and failure to maintain lane, the GSP said.

She’s jailed without bond in the Dawson County Detention Center.

Wells died at the scene after he was hit by a vehicle as he tried to walk south across Dawson Forest Road, according to the GSP.

The vehicle was heading east on Dawson Forest. It hit Wells with the front passenger side area and drove from the location, the GSP said.
