A suspect in the murder of a 30-year-old Atlanta man in August was arrested in South Carolina on Thursday, according to authorities.

Jeremy Woods was arrested in connection with the murder of Kentavious Ballard. According to media reports, Ballard, 30, was shot and killed as he and a friend were walking through Atlanta's Central Park on the morning of Aug. 19. Ballard was the third son of Janice Ballard Dean to be murdered, according to Channel 2 Action News.

A U.S. Marshall’s task force joined with the Atlanta Police Department’s fugitive unit to search for Woods after APD identified him as a suspect in Ballard’s murder.

Woods was taken into custody in Aiken without incident, authorities said. He is being held at the Aiken County Jail awaiting extradition to Atlanta.
