Shooting outside Union City apartment kills woman

April 15, 2016A woman died Friday after she was shot in the early morning hours outside a Union City apartment, police said.
Officers responded about 3:49 a.m. to 4300 Flat Shoals Road, Union City police said in a media release. They found a woman with a gunshot wound to her right side.
The gunshot originated from outside the apartment, and police think the apartment was targeted. It is not regarded as a random act of violence.
The woman’s identity has not been released. She died after being taken to a hospital.
