Authorities in northwest Georgia have released a sketch of the man they believe killed another while shooting into a crowd gathered near a music venue.
The unidentified suspect is believed to be a metro Atlanta resident.
The Rome Police Department said in a news release that Travious Floyd was shot and killed around 1:45 a.m. on May 24 while standing in a crowd on West 5th Avenue. The suspect reportedly stepped out of a black late-model Dodge Challenger with “light colored stripes” before firing several shots.
The suspect was described as a man between 20 and 25 years old and between 5-foot-7 and 5-10. Just before the shooting, he reportedly was seen on stage with a rapper named Bandit Gang Marco during his performance at a local club called The Peach.
Bandit Gang Marco, whose website says he grew up on Atlanta's Westside, took to Instagram last week to claim he wasn't involved in the shooting.
“I was not involved in any shootings, I even went to the police station and was released … ” the rapper wrote, in part.
Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to contact Rome police at 706-238-5111.
