A DeKalb County high school teacher returned to the classroom Tuesday after being cleared of allegations made by a female student that he touched her breasts and made racial comments toward her.
Tucker High School teacher Dennis Shoemaker was cleared last week, DeKalb schools spokeswoman Eileen Houston-Stewart told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
A 15-year-old student had accused Shoemaker of trying to intimidate her.
Shoemaker was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
Houston-Stewart said the student “exercised the in-district school transfer option.”
Shoemaker told The AJC he’s happy he was cleared and he wanted to encourage all teachers not to be alone with students at school whenever possible.
