1 killed in shooting at Brookhaven apartment complex
One man was killed in a shooting at the Avana Apartments on the 2900 block of Clairmont Road in Brookhaven, police said.
The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Brookhaven police Maj. Brandon Gurley said. No other details were released.
The shooting occurred on the the third floor inside the building, Gurley said. Investigators do not know if the victim lived in the building.
This is the second apartment shooting in DeKalb County in less than 24 hours.
About 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, DeKalb police responded to a shooting along Central Drive that left two people injured. Three men were seen leaving that scene in a dark-colored Kia.
No suspects are in custody in either shooting.
