Bank robbery triggers lockdowns at Dunwoody daycare centers

A Tuesday afternoon armed robbery at a Dunwoody bank triggered a lockdown at at least two nearby daycare centers.

According to Dunwoody police Sgt. Tim Fecht, an armed man walked into the KeyWorth bank at 1449 Dunwoody Village Parkway at about 4:30 p.m. and demanded cash from a teller. He ran away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Dunwoody Prep and Primrose School of Dunwoody daycare centers were “placed on lockdown by Dunwoody Police as precaution as we searched area for suspect,” Fecht said.

The lockdowns were lifted around 6 p.m., Fecht said, but the suspect was not caught.

He is described as a 40- to 45-year-old man wearing jeans, a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, a white mesh hat with a black front and “large brown sunglasses.” Dunwoody police also released a bank surveillance photo.
